We have recently received several calls asking about Peddler Permits. Per Village of Kenesaw Ordinances (10-201, 10-202, 10-203) all persons selling goods or service within the city limits of Kenesaw must obtain a permit from the Village Clerk prior to doing business. These permits allow the Village Office to maintain a record of who is going door-to-door, which companies they are soliciting for and what products or services are being offered. They also allow us to explain the restrictions and requirements for selling in our Village. If a solicitor or salesman has been given a Peddler’s Permit, they will have a copy of the permit with them and you absolutely can ask to see it. If they cannot produce a permit, feel free to call the Village Office to ask if the salesperson has one. If you have any questions or concerns about the validity of a product or service being offered door-to-door, please call the Village Office and we will be happy to assist in any way we can.
Solicitation is only allowed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Exceptions to the Village of Kenesaw Peddlers and Hawkers Ordinances are people selling produce raised within the county, wholesale salesmen soliciting merchants directly, or representatives soliciting on behalf of a nonprofit or charity organization.
Again, please contact the office at 402-752-3222 if you have any questions.
