As the season changes, the Village Board of Trustees and Village Staff would like to inform the residents of exciting things happening in our wonderful little community and provide some reminders of important things that shouldn’t be neglected or ignored. Let’s make what is left of the year 2024~ safe, smooth, and peaceful for all residents and guests of Kenesaw.
EXCITING THINGS happening this Fall/Winter:
The Village of Kenesaw will be doing a FALL CLEAN-UP this year OCTOBER 3rd – 7TH!! With how fast the dumpsters seem to fill up during the Spring Clean-Up, the village board decided to do a Fall Clean-Up in hopes that it would continue to keep our community clean and help residents with a way to dispose of unwanted, damaged, or nuisance items.
The Goodwill trailer will also be here but we are currently working on a date to get the trailer here to Kenesaw. We will let you know when we have those dates.
REMINDERS for Fall/Winter:
Residents are asked to clean up leaves that have fallen from their trees into yards and ditches attached to the property so the culverts don’t get plugged with extra debris.
Residents and Business Owners need to maintain snow, sleet, mud, ice, or other substances that may accumulate on sidewalks for the safety of residents and customers. (§8-301)
Dog Licensing for 2025 begins on January 1st, 2025, and is late as of February 1st, 2025, but the Village Office will have the 2025 tags beginning December 1st, 2024, if you want to get a head start. (§6-101 to §6-104)
Dog licenses are required on a yearly basis.
A copy of the Vet Clinic Certificate of Rabies Vaccination showing the dog is current on his/her rabies vaccination is REQUIRED.
Dog licenses are only $5.00 per dog until February 1st then late fees start to incur and increase monthly. (Res. 209-2022)
⇒ Please note that the village also requires that you keep your dog on a leash, in a kennel, in a fenced yard or using a collar-controlled underground fence at all times. They are not allowed to “roam”. (§6-107)
⇒ The Village of Kenesaw does not have a dog-catcher nor a facility to hold dogs. Any calls reporting loose/at-large dog will be handed over to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office (402.461.7181) or you can call the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to report the dog.
~ATTENTION~
With the cold weather coming, the Board of Trustees has decided to not fully disconnect water between November 1st and March 1st because of possible damage during cold weather. THIS IS A COURTESY and YOU WILL STILL BE CHARGED THE DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT FEES ON DISCONNECT DAY. If you have not paid your bill by MIDNIGHT the day before the disconnect date noted on the disconnect notice, then you will be charged the disconnect fee of $50.00 and reconnect fee of $100.00. (Res. 195-2021R)
Happy Holidays!
